Expanding an Italian World

We partnered with the famed Milanese multi-brand store to bring their digital presence to life for their first US-based e-commerce website. As long-time followers and fans of Carla Sozzani and her creative vision, we wanted to create a digital world that reflected the emotive experience and artistry of her physical stores while having a clean UX experience.

About the Brand

In September of 1990, after a career in journalism and fashion, Carla Sozzani opened Galleria Carla Sozzani for photography, art, and design in a converted garage on a street called Corso Como in Milan. The gallery was soon joined by a garden café and a bookshop, which housed new and classic publications on art, architecture, literature, design, graphics, a prolific collection of photography books and a selection of music from around the world.

Design Strategy

10 Corso Como has a very strong visual identity, one that is full of colorful and bold illustrations and whimsical touches. We didn't want this illustrated brand language to overwhelm the products, so we strategically toned them down when used in the the user experience. We kept the photography simple and used illustrations as flourishes over them to make the site feel more like the brick and mortar store.

In addition to the design and development of their US digital flagship store, we have continued to work with the 10CC team to create ongoing content through our retained services.
